Saturday, July 24, 2010~ My most special birthday ever~I think I did one of the most embarrassing thing ever. I wrote a note on facebook with the intention to keep it as a memoir cause I didn't want to post about this special special birthday celebration until I got the photos from Siao Er which I have just gotten and thus, this long overdued post! Haha.. And I cleverly assumed that clicking publish on facebook just meant that I could see the post but no!! I didn't expect it'll appear on everyone's home page!! And worse still, I didn't expect that people will read it!! =X Urgh. But anyways, since I sorta summarized everything there, I decided to just paste the whole note thingy here and added a bit more details. haha.. so here it goes =) I think I'm one of the luckiest people on earth. =) My first birthday celebration was with my ex whose now a good friend on the 2nd of July at 1-caramel. The cakes were fantabulous! Their tea time special is definitely worth a second visit. =) Oh, and I got my first birthday present too! A pair of butterfly earrings from Mintmark and Co! He took special effort in finding it cause I happened to mention that I lost my old pair. Thank you buddy!     My second celebration was a surprise specially planned by Siao Er on the 5th of July at Oomphatico's located at Tanglin Mall. It really came as a total surprise cause I never expected to see so many people gather to give me a surprise. Really really touched and felt bad that so many people took time off just to celebrate my birthday. The food was great! And the desserts were AWESOME as well!!! In fact, it was the first time I had a FOUR COURSE dinner which I finished almost everything! Haha... =D  Thank you all!! =) Some special salad which I can't remember the name cause it was sooo long ago. =X Wheat penne pasta Red snapper =) Chocolate lava cake with ice-cream! *smacks lips*  Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Macademia and Strawberry Cheesecake! Loves of my life. =) My special undies present from them! hahahaa..My fifth celebration was that very saturday night at Punggol Choon Seng Seafood restaurant with my family!! Can you just imagine how bloated I was already. It was a really expensive dinner but what touched me the most wasn't how much they were willing to spend on my birthday dinner but the fact that everyone took time out to have a dinner with me. =) By the way, we saw many many people ordering their Beijing duck. Think its another of their signature dishes. Oh, and don't be tricked by their name cause they're actually located near Changi V. haha..  "Ngo hiang" pancakes. Xiao bai cai Toufu with cai pu Yam basket with diced chicken Their signature mee goreng.Sixth celebration was on my actual birthday at my Uncle's place!! He said dinner was to be at his place instead of my grands cause he was gonna cook up a feast since it was my birthday!! =D And it was indeed a feast!! Just look at the photos! gosh... And the bangawan solo mango cake turned out nicer than I expected. =D SO it was a sunday of family love to celebrate the day I was born. Made me felt really special. =)      My present from my little cousins! =) Present from my air steward Uncle! =)And my latest (back when I was typing this part) birthday present came in the form of a WHOLE TRAY of SUPERB APPLY CRUMBLE!!! =D My date from last year FWOC surprised me close to 1am just now (morning of 16th Jul) with a whole tray of his reknown apple crumble!! I couldn't stop once I started!!! And now, there's less than half a tray left. This is in addition to a super filling dinner at B Bakery. It was a super advanced birthday treat to my ex. 1 main course and 3 cakes was what we conquered! Imagine my poor tummy working so hard! =X And before the apple crumble, clown came around with a tray of cookies that he just baked. This is indeed a super sinful night, but a very touching one too... ^.^  What an amazing 22nd birthday I just had. =) Blessed with soooo many people that care and bother about just a little me... THank you all of you for being so nice and wonderful to me. *SUPER DUPER BIG HUG* =) Oh, and I had my eighth and final celebration Thus night 22nd of July! =) It was a dinner treat at Sushi Teh and ended off with yummy Anderson's ice-cream! No pictures of the lovely food I ate but I do have a pic of my birthday present. Haha..  Well, guess this is the end of me boasting about my numerous celebrations. Haha... Just really want to thank everyone who remembered, who took time off to celebrate with me, to take the few seconds off to wish me, to be willing to take money to get me stuff and most importantly, to be there for me as a friend. =) Love ya'll soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. With lots of love, Lix Saturday, July 17, 2010~ A beautiful visit ~I was back in hall this morning to do 30th anni stuff... really hoping that we can cover more each day and that our events would be soooo successful it'll be ingrained in the minds of everyone who attends. =) Anyhow, I want to talk more about a special home I visited this evening and that's none other than my senior Melody!! I first came to know her (not personally) when I entered SACSS. She was the head girl then. I always had the impression of her being a sweet and responsible student. A model student in fact but I never got to know her personally. Well, guess what, I did get to know her eventually, and that was after I came to hall!! What a coincidence right?! Haha... And before I knew it, I attended her church wedding and just a few hours ago, I had the privilege of seeing her newborn baby of 10 days!! =D Amazing isn't it!!! =D =D =D Anyways, that's not the main focus of my update. I was initially quite skeptical about cause I'm not very close to Melfy to start with but anyhow, since Huiru initiated and did the planning, I thought, why not... So I went and the moment I entered the house, I see her husband John right behind her, holding the door for us, then he headed to the kitchen and busied himself with cooking dinner and basically just making sure that everything was in place for her. Whilst Melfy was showing us around her house, he came by, told her its time for her to eat even though it was only 5.30pm and we learnt from Melfy that its cause she had a super early lunch. Very thoughtful ain't it? So after the mini house tour, we decided to carry baby jess before going off and Melfy was taking photos of us carrying baby jess, then he came around and volunteered to help us take a group photo and told Melfy once again to go eat. As I peered over to the dining table, the table was all set up! Just how often do you see how love is, layed out right before your eyes, without any physical signs or actions, just simple care and concern for each other. Seeing how meticulous he was in taking care of Melfy even though they were both only 24 inspired me. It gave me a hope that I too will be able to find someone who'll take care of me especially when I'm at my weakest (that is during confinement) and will stand by me for the rest of my life. =) And I hope that one day, you all will be able to witness this amazing love and give you faith that you too will be able to find that soul mate yeah. =) P.S: Apologies, I'm not much of a write so this post probably won't have as great an impact as I would like it to have, but you get the idea yeah?! haha..
